9th Innovation Week with 32 Master's students from the FH Upper Austria and JKU
This year's Innovation Week 2024 at Tabakfabrik Linz was once again full of innovative spirit and great visions for the future! For the ninth time, students from various Master's degree programs at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and, for the first time, from the Johannes Kepler University Linz met and worked in interdisciplinary teams on five design challenges from Austrian companies. Under the leitmotif of interdisciplinarity, diversity of perspectives, iteration, user focus and openness, creative new solutions were developed, which the participants presented to their clients in an exciting finale.
Statement by Prof. (FH) Mag. Dr. Daniela Freudenthaler-Mayrhofer:
"Our mission for Innovation Week was to let the students experience innovation work as realistically as possible - with unsolved business problems, interdisciplinary groups and as much diversity as possible! The teams got involved in this process with great enthusiasm and it was a pleasure to support them in this endeavor!"
Sustainable solutions for real challenges
32 Master's students in five groups took on the design challenges of KEBA, Hödlmayr, LIWEST, BIG - Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft and Blue Tomato. These companies posed various challenges, including the development of a digital guestbook, the creation of data awareness, the design of a secure smart home for people with special needs, the implementation of sustainable solutions and the development of a new design concept.
