The Academic Women's Day event series of the FHOOE is aimed at all female researchers and female lecturers to get to know each other internally and network in an informal atmosphere.
The FH OÖ Academic women’s day was held in English this year and focused on the topics “Tools / Formats”, “Topics / Areas of Interest”, “Trainings / Development” and“Future Vision”.
The almost 20 female researchers and female lecturers in study operations and management at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria took part in a World Café setting under the professional leadership of MMag.a Wiesinger Sophie, research assistant at Logistikum Steyr, and with the participation of MMag.a Isolde Perndl, Managing Director of the FH OÖ andFH-Prof.in Mag.a Dr. in Silke Preymann, Head of the Master's degree program in Human Resource Management in Steyr, discussed questions such as “What do you consider to be the ideal tools and formats for exchange of women in academia @ FH OÖ and networking in the future?”, “Which topics would you like to discuss with women in academia @ FH OÖ andexchange ideas about?”, "What opportunities do you see for professional training and development for women in academia @ FH OÖ? Do you have any special wishes for workshops, skills, or training sessions?“, ”Imagine the future of the fictional FH OÖ “Empowered Women in Academia (EWA)-network”! What key features, initiatives, and activities would make EWA a thriving and impactful community for women in academia and research? How can EWA best support and empower its members?".
The exciting findings will be incorporated into the organization of the next F(H)rauentag der Akademia. We hope that the FH OÖ will soon have an “Empowered Women in Academia Network”. You can look forward to it! Many thanks also to Dr.in Regina Aichinger, MSc, authorized signatory and Vice President Organization and Quality, who unfortunately could not be present due to illness.
